From Pix11:
“Sen. Daniel Squadron warned the seniors [that] a preliminary state budget proposal could close 65 centers in New York City and cut services.
“To cut it is unacceptable. There’s a simple way to save it, every senior every family should raise their voice so Albany doesn’t ignore it,” Squadron said.

Eileen Dugan and Amico senior center is a second home to a senior. They walk in with a gleam in their eye and a smile on their face. It’s their place to mingle, to participate in art, sewing, jewelry making, computer lab, yoga and stretching stretching exercise. Dancing with our DJ Joel- chacha, rock n roll, samba, pop.
Our seniors have the mentality to vote, to communicate their views. By closing this center, you take away all that makes these happy. They are lonely. Their children live far away. Some have lost their children Very creative – artistic
When our senior center is shut due to bad weather or holidays- they say- ah where and what are we going to do. This is very sad to hear this. Many travel afar to come to our center in all

They get involved with – Court Street fair- selling items to raise money- by knitting or painting.
